Sugarcraft Success at Salon Culinaire 2017

Talented Brooklands College Sugarcraft students were celebrating their overwhelming successes at this year’s Salon Culinaire, held at the NEC, Birmingham - the UK’s largest and most prestigious chef competition programme, coming home with a bundle of awards.

The awards were as follows:

    Senior Section
  • Level 2 Wired Sugarflowers student Clare Bates won Gold for her 3 tier wedding cake.
  • ABC Level 3 Royal Icing student Ahrum Kim won Silver for her celebration cake.
  • ABC Level 2 Cake Decoration student Laura Yearwood won Bronze for her cupcakes.
  • FDQ Level 2 Bakery student Carlene Baggot won a certificate of merit for her wired sugarflowers.
  • Junior Section
  • ABC Level 2 Cake Decoration student Naomi Bunclark won Gold for her celebration cake.
  • ABC Level 1 Cake Decoration & Sugar Flowers student Stella Grimer won Bronze for her celebration cake and wired sugarflowers.
  • ABC Level 1 Cake Decoration & Sugar Flowers Rita Joyce won a certificate of merit for her celebration cake and a bronze for her wired sugarflowers.
  • Tutor Sue Haskell was delighted with their success.
