Holly puts Weybridge on the map

Holly puts Weybridge on the map

26/09/17

The project was a partnership between Elmbridge Borough Council, South Western Railway and the Weybridge Town Business Group, the map is seen as the beginning of work to enhance the aesthetics of Weybridge train station.

The College were approached to take part in the project and students thoroughly enjoyed getting involved, using their creativity to produce maps in different formats. It was Holly’s illustration that won the day and was voted to be put up at the station. Holly was thrilled to be part of this project and said ” I really enjoyed studying Art at Brooklands College and the competition was great addition to our course work. With over 30 entries, I was surprised but delighted, when my illustration won!”

Cllr Peter Harman, Ward Councillor for Weybridge and St George’s Hill has been instrumental in the creation of the project; “Improving the look and feel of Weybridge station is important to me. It is such a busy station and essential for so many residents that I wanted it to feel part of the community. Holly’s great map shows visitors the layout of Weybridge in a fun and informative way.

This year’s students look forward to working with the partnership on any future projects.
