Brooklands College students transformed second hand clothes into quirky art in the Cancer Research Shop.

Art and Design students used corsage flowers, jewellery and ruffles to create four ‘dresses, with a difference’.

There was a good supply of material in the shop for the students to choose from. A variety of colours, styles and, all donated.

Michelle King aged 17 from Stanwell is a student on the National Certificate course and works at the Cancer Research Shop in Ashford. Brooklands College worked with Michelle to have the students final creations displayed in the shop window for all to admire.

Art Technician Nicole Kemp said ‘as part of their first year course, students were briefed to use recycled materials. I am impressed with their work and am sure that their innovative designs will catch the attention of many high street shoppers. This project was a great opportunity for our students to get more involved with the community. I am very pleased with how supportive the Cancer Research Shop has been’.
