Tutor Support
At Brooklands College, tutor support and encouragement are available from the first day, and every full-time student is allocated a Personal Tutor.
The Personal Tutor is a student's central contact point for academic and pastoral support throughout their studies at the College. They can act as a referral point to appropriate advice and guidance services both inside and outside college, making sure students access services appropriate to their needs. The Personal Tutor is also the best point of contact for parents/guardians and employers.
Tutorial sessions are held with individual students and in groups. In one-to-one sessions tutors will help you to progress through agreeing targets and action plans and by keeping records of your individual progress. In group activities you will learn 'life skills' such as Letter Writing, Writing a CV, Time Management, Revision/Exam Techniques, The Value of Work Placement and Handling an Interview.
Our aim at Brooklands is to encourage each student to reach their full potential - the Tutor system is designed to help students to achieve their individual goal.
