Construction is a booming industry and is forecast to continue with this trend. Therefore over the Summer of 2018, we have invested in our Construction buildings, to improve the space and work conditions for our students.
The additional workshop space created allows both carpentry and bricklaying groups to have the very best teaching and learning experience on their chosen course.
This course is for you if you want to progress your career into areas such as architecture, quantity surveying, building control, building surveying and construction management. Many of these jobs combine office-based activities with on-site visits to projects and building sites.
The assessment will include both internal and external assessments along with formal written assignment work.
5 GCSE passes grade 4 or above (including English and maths) or a Level 2 qualification.
The qualification can lead directly into employment, offering learners the chance to develop their skills and knowledge to a high standard recognized by the industry. In addition, this will lead learners onto a full extended diploma at Level 3 in the second year. The course will allow you to develop your skills in construction technology along with a basic understanding of the professional careers within the industry. In addition to this, you can consider progression onto a full HNC in Construction and the Built Environment or progression onto a Degree specialism.
