    Are you looking to gain a professional accounting qualification in a reduced time period?  Fast Track AAT courses are now available at Brooklands, meaning you can complete your level 2 Certificate in only 24 or 30 weeks.

    This qualification will prepare you for junior and entry level accounting roles. It delivers a solid foundation in finance administration - covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software.

    Most students will start with this qualification.

    Course Details

    What will the course involve?

    The certificate level is made up of 5 units which each include both knowledge of accounting principles plus practical application.

    Processing Bookkeeping Transactions

    • Principals of recording and processing financial transactions
    • Preparing and recording financial documentation
    • Processing ledger transactions and extracting a trial balance

    Control Accounts, journals and the banking system

    • Maintaining and recording the cash book
    • Banking procedures
    • Maintaining petty cash records
    • Maintaining the journal
    • Maintaining control accounts

    Introduction to costing

    • Basic Principles of costing
    • Provide basic cost and revenue information

    Using Accounting Software

    • Basic SAGE

    Work Effectively in Accounting and Finance

    • General account office procedures and policies


    This course is suitable for students:

    • already working in accounts at a clerical level and who wish to gain a recognised professional qualification to help progress their career
    • returning to work and interested in a career in accounting
    • thinking about a change in career

    Additional Costs

    Text books will be advised at the start of the course. These are ordered and paid for by the student but we have the benefit of a discount with the main suppliers. Costs in the region of £85- £90.

    Fees for the tests are payable at the beginning of the course and are non-refundable. Re-sits have to be paid for separately if required.  Students will have to enrol with the AAT at the start of the course. This currently costs £108.

    Each student will receive a print allowance at the start of their course, should they require additional printing beyond this limit, they will be charged.

    All students will be subject to a £25 registration fee per academic year.
