    Employabilty & Transition has been specially designed for students in transition between school/Entry Level provision and employment. The course offers opportunities for learners to gain Level 1 qualifications in employability skills and vocational experience.

    This course is perfect if you are looking to gain a qualification and experience in a variety of subjects. Vocational areas may include Art & Media, Hair & Beauty, Care, Carpentry, Catering, Engineering, IT, Sport & Public Services, Motor Vehicle and Travel & Tourism.


    Where will I be studying?

    In September 2015 we opened The Vickers Centre for learners with Autism and/or Speech, Language and Communication needs. This centre provides a unique college based setting for students in Surrey. Learners will enjoy the security of a secure building in a quiet area of the college whilst having the opportunity to integrate into the wider college environment.

    Who is the course suitable for?

    Employability & Transition is suitable for those who have a learning difficulty or disability and who prefer to learn in small group with dedicated support. They are likely to have a EHCP.

    Suitability for the course will be determined at interview. Students who have not attended the course before should consider transition planning with the College to include taster sessions and attendance at Summer School.

    • English & maths
    • Employability skills - supported work placement opportunities

    Are there any extra costs?

    Additional expenses to consider include travel expenses, cafe visits and leisure outings, which may require money on a regular basis. Students are also expected to bring folders, pens and a memory stick to all lessons.

    Entry Requirements

    What qualifications will I need?

    Some evidence of studying at Entry Level 3 in literacy and numeracy. Enthusiasm and interest is essential.
