    The course provides underpinning knowledge through themed taught lessons and is assessed through work placement competency and written work.

    You will be in placement 2 days a week where you will get to gain experience of working with children and practice your newly developed skills

    Who is the course suitable for?

    This subject is for you if you have an interest in working with children.

    How is the course assessed?

    The course is assessed through written work and observations in a childcare setting.

    Are there any extra costs?

    Your tutor will advise you of any additional costs at the start of the course.  Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.

    Entry Requirements

    What qualifications will I need?

    5 GCSE passes including 1 GCSE at grade C/grade 4 and above or for progressing student’s successful achievement of a level 1 vocational qualification.

    Next Steps

    This qualification allows progression on to the Level 3 Early Years Educator qualifications and other Level 3 qualifications relating to child care.

    This qualification is an excellent route to employment. Job roles in this sector include:  Early Years Practitioner and Nanny and average starting salaries in these professions will be in the region of £10,000 - 15,000.
