This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in software production and design.
T Levels are technical education courses which follow GCSEs, and are equivalent in size to 3 A Levels.
These 2-year courses have been developed with employers so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work.
The core content of a T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development allows learners to develop skills that are needed for entry to a range of digital occupations.
Students are required to take part in a substantial industry placement that runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and will therefore give students practical insights into their sector and an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.
Based at our Weybridge Campus, you will have access to the latest technology equipment and classrooms and will be taught by our industry qualified and experienced teaching team.
Areas of study include:
• software design
• using digital technologies to analyse and solve problems
• emerging technical trends such as Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality
• privacy and confidentiality
• internet security
• planning digital projects
• testing software, hardware and data
In addition to the core content, students will develop skills in:
• Analysing problems
• Designing software
• Supporting software
• Understanding legal and regulatory requirements when developing software
Then you’ll be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement of around 45 days.
This gives you an amazing opportunity to work with an employer while you study, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.
5 GCSEs at grade 9-4 (including English, maths and a science or design-related subject).
