    This course is for those who are working as a teaching assistant in a school, who are seeking a higher level qualification. You will attend college for 3 hours one morning each week, where you will be taught by one of the tutor team. In addition, you should be working or, in some cases, volunteering in a school for at least 10 hours per week. This will enable you to link your learning on the course to your practice.

    • Supporting assessment for learning
    • Understanding children and young people’s development
    • Supporting learning activities
    • Understanding how to safeguard the well-being of children and young people.

    Entry Requirements

    What qualifications will I need?

    You should be able to write and communicate confidently at Level 2. The school in which you are working or volunteering should be aware that you are studying for this qualification and should support you by providing a mentor in your workplace.
