The BTEC level 3 courses offer specialist qualifications that focus on particular aspects of employment within the Travel industry.
The courses allow the opportunity to broaden your study in Tourist Destinations, Customer Service, and Working Overseas as a Resort Representative amongst others. They are a mix of academic study together with practical elements such as Residential Visits
At Brooklands College we have a team of dedicated, experienced staff with vast travel industry experience. Our students enjoy classes in our dedicated tourism and cabin crew rooms. Over the duration of your course you will learn everything you need to know to have a successful start in industry. Depending on your choice of course you will study various units such as Retail Travel, Travel Destinations, Resort Reps, Cabin Crew, Cruise and you may even learn to speak some Spanish! Being an ambassador for the college you will develop your professional skills looking after customers at our open events.
You also have the opportunity to experience the industry first hand, putting into practice what you have learned in the classroom during assessments on our fantastic day trips and overseas visits.

You will also participate in GCSE re-sit or Functional Skills for English and Maths if you achieved lower than a 4 in your GCSE exams.
2 weeks of work experience, residential visit abroad, day trips to Travel and Tourism establishments and the chance to gain industry qualifications.
These courses are designed for those who have a keen interest in the Travel and Tourism Sector
You will be assessed by assignments and external exams throughout the course and will achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Your will need to pay £150 for day trips for the year and there will be an overseas residential trip, which will cost approximately £500. Your tutor will provide details of these at the start of the course.
Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.
5 GCSE passes at grade C/grade 4 or above, ideally including English and Maths (some subject areas may require higher grades than grade C/4 in a specific subject), or for progressing students successful achievement of a level 2 vocational qualification.
Successful completion of this course can lead to a full time University course, or to employment within the Travel and Tourism Industry.
Examples and approximate starting salaries of job roles that students on this course may go into include: Travel Agent £13,000, Cabin Crew £15,000, Cruise Call Centre £18,000.
