    Based in Weybridge, this course covers many of the professional disciplines connected with the practical and technical aspects of architecture and construction.

    The course covers many of the subject areas required to head towards a career in Architecture, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, Project Management, Quantity and Building Surveying and related professional construction pathways.

    This is a vocational course but is academic in structure and expects the students to undertake personal research and produce written and illustrated submissions as well as presentations.

    There are also practical elements in the course including graphical detailing, CAD and Surveying.

    Construction is a booming industry and is forecast to continue with this trend. In 2018 we invested in our Construction facilities to improve the space and working conditions for our students.

    We have a dedicated area where you will be learning at the Weybridge campus.

    Who is the course suitable for?

    This course is for you if you want to progress your career into areas such as architecture, quantity surveying, building control, building surveying and construction management. Many of these jobs combine office-based activities with on-site visits to projects and building sites.

    How is the course assessed?

    The assessment will include both internal and external assessments along with formal written assignment work.

    Are there any extra costs?

    • Pens, pencils, ruler, protractor, compass, eraser, line paper and a ring binder
    • Students will be allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred

    What qualifications will I need?

    5 GCSE passes at 6 or above, including English and Maths or a Level 2 qualification.


    Next Steps

    The qualification can lead directly into employment often through an apprenticeship. The course offers learners the chance to develop their skills and knowledge to a high standard recognised by the industry. In addition, this will lead learners onto a full extended diploma at Level 3 in the second year.

    The course will allow you to develop your skills in construction technology along with a basic understanding of the professional careers within the industry. In addition to this, you can consider progression onto a full HNC in Construction and the Built Environment or progression onto a Degree specialism.
