Technology is a vital component of every business and building key skills that can launch you into a career to support this is an exciting challenge.
The core element of a level 3 T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding in a broad range of topics such as programming, coding, the use of data and the different platforms of delivery in the digital industry. It’s a fast-moving and cutting-edge subject and you’ll also learn about the potential security risks that organisations can face and how to analyse problems and identify solutions through computer programs.
You’ll then move on to study the subject in more detail through occupational specialism. This is where you can get deeper into specific aspects of the subject, developing and practising the skills needed for an occupation.
T Levels are made up of three elements. The core components are assessed with two written externally marked examinations and an Employer set project where you apply knowledge and skills to a given challenge or tasks.
You will learn occupation or industry-specific specialist skills at College and will need to evidence your achievement and ability to work in your chosen occupation/industry through a synoptic assessment.
Industry placements are a mandatory part of the T Level qualification (you will need to complete between 45-60 days). This will enable you to gain valuable industry skills that employers are looking for to support with your next steps onto high levels of study or into employment.
You will study the following across the two years:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4, including both English and Maths, and ideally grade 9-4 in GCSE Computer Science.
