There are many reasons how taking on an apprentice could help your business grow. You could fill a skill gap, develop the skills of your team and reduce staff turnover. Apprentices must be over 16 however there is no upper age limit now, therefore apprenticeships are also a positive way to upskill your current employees.

Incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice. Employers who hire a new apprentice between 1 August 2020 and March 2021 will receive a payment of:
· £2,000 for apprentices aged 16 to 24
· £1,500 for apprentices aged 25 and overHow can you use the payment? It can be spent on anything to support your organisation’s costs: Uniforms, travel, or salary. You do not have to pay this back.
You can only apply for this payment for new apprentices who started their contract of employment between 1 August 2020 and March 2021.
This is in addition to the existing £1,000 payment the government already provides. Learn More
