There are many reasons how taking on an apprentice could help your business grow. You could fill a skill gap, develop the skills of your team and reduce staff turnover. Apprentices must be over 16 however there is no upper age limit now, therefore apprenticeships are also a positive way to upskill your current employees.
Hurry! don’t miss out:
Incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice. Employers who hire a new apprentice between 1 August 2020 and March 2021 will receive a payment of:
· £2,000 for apprentices aged 16 to 24
· £1,500 for apprentices aged 25 and over
How can you use the payment? It can be spent on anything to support your organisation’s costs: Uniforms, travel, or salary. You do not have to pay this back.
You can only apply for this payment for new apprentices who started their contract of employment between 1 August 2020 and March 2021.
This is an exciting time for employers as Chancellor Rishi Sunak has just announced new Incentives for those taking part in the Apprenticeships scheme. For each new apprentice you hire before March 2021 the incentive is £2,000 for those aged under 25, and £1,500 for those aged 25 and over. This is in addition to the existing £1,000 payment the government already provides. Learn More
