For 16-18 learners, applications are open until the start of the academic year (September), but we recommend you get your application in early to receive important information ahead of enrolment in August. For adult learners (19+) start dates vary so please check the relevant course page to ensure you submit your application for when you want to join us.

Entry requirements vary depending on the course. Please view the relevant course page for more information. Entry requirements are intended as a guide to help ensure learners are enrolled on to the appropriate level.

If you haven’t got the grades you were hoping for, please discuss this with our friendly team at enrolment and they will help you enrol onto a suitable course.

If you are applying for our Pre-16 or SEND & Transition programmes, you will be invited to interview. 

If you have declared you have unspent cautions or convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, you will be required to have an interview with our Safeguarding team before your application is processed.

You do not need to prepare anything. However, if you have an EHCP, your caseworker will need to send this to EHCP@brooklands.ac.uk in order for us to review your application so we recommend speaking with your caseworker as soon as possible to ensure this is completed to avoid any delays. 

Our Admissions team will contact you to arrange an interview. These are usually held in the Spring term.

Yes. You can apply for more than one course. If you receive offers for multiple courses, you can accept one or both. However, you can only enrol onto one course in August. If you’ve already made your decision, please indicate your preference in your acceptance email to withdraw your application for the other course.

To track the status of your application, you will need to log in to your Application Portal. You will be prompted to enter your email address and create a password upon application. Please use a personal email address when creating your application. Do not use a school email address that you may lose access to before enrolment.

A Levels are subject-based qualifications with a focus on academic study and exam-based assessments.

T Levels combine classroom learning with real-world experience. Equivalent to 3 A Levels, with a 45-day minimum industry placement, they are assessed through exams and work projects.

BTECs are technical/vocational courses that focus on developing practical skills and hands-on experience in specific sectors. They are assessed through a combination of coursework, projects and exams (depending on the course) and include a 2-week work experience placement.

All these routes can lead to skilled careers, apprenticeships or university, depending on the subject and level of study. We offer a wide range of technical courses including T Levels and BTECs, from Entry Level (Foundation Pathways) to Level 3 qualifications. We do not offer A Levels.

Yes, our full-time courses are fully funded for 16-18 year old learners and 19-24 year old learners with an EHCP.

Tuition fees for our part-time adult courses (19+) vary by course and funding eligibility. Please refer to the individual course page for fees. Our Admissions team will provide a fee assessment at enrolment to determine whether you are eligible for fee remission (for the course to be part or fully funded).

An Advanced Learner Loan is a government-funded loan for people aged 19+ in England studying Level 3 to 6 further education qualifications (e.g., Access to HE, technical training). It covers tuition fees, is not income-based, requires no credit checks and repayments only start when earning over £25,000 per year (as of 2026).

You may be eligible if you meet the following criteria:

• You are aged 19 or older on the first day of your course.
• You are studying an approved Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 qualification 
• You are a UK resident or have settled status and have lived in the UK for the past 3 years.

Please note: You cannot get a loan for the same type and level of qualification more than once.

Yes. For students who are under 20 at the start of their course there is the government-funded Care to Learn scheme. There is also childcare support for learners who are 20+. For more information and eligibility, please visit our Bursary and Financial Support page.

From January 2027, the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) provides a portable loan entitlement over four years, allowing you to fund not only full degrees but also individual modules, technical qualifications, and retraining at Level 4-6, even if you already hold a degree.

Kit, equipment and uniform requirements vary by course. Please visit the individual course page to view what is required for that particular programme. If required, you will have to purchase these yourself. At enrolment, you will be provided with more information on how to purchase the specific kit, equipment and uniform needed. 

If you are eligible for bursary support, you may also be eligible for these items to be purchased on your behalf.

Yes. The college’s Safeguarding & Wellbeing team support students with mental health and wellbeing concerns, alongside our in-house counsellor and our partnership with MindWorks. For more information on how we support our students, please visit our Safeguarding page.

Yes, however we recommend informing our Admissions team that you’d like to change course as soon as possible to avoid missing valuable learning time. You will be able to change course until October half term. You will not be able to transfer courses after this point as there will not be sufficient time to catch up with the new course.

We have a variety of extra-curricular activities and student clubs that take place across both our campuses including football, badminton, philosophy club, chess club, book club and creative writing competitions to name a few! Your timetable will vary depending on your course and this will be provided to you the first week of term. However, you can usually expect to be on campus 3-4 days a week.

Depending on your timetable, yes there is usually an opportunity to have a part-time job while you’re studying. However, you should wait to receive your timetable to confirm what days of the week you will need to be on campus, as well as work experience/industry placement commitments, before confirming availability with your employer.

Firstly you can use the government website Find an apprenticeship to search and apply for apprenticeships in England. Alternatively, you can visit company websites and check out their Careers pages to see if they have opportunities available. You can also speak to our Apprenticeships team who may have opportunities with local employers we’re in partnership with. For more information about apprenticeships, visit our Apprenticeships page.

Yes, as apprenticeships are not tied to the academic calendar, you can switch from a full-time course to an apprenticeship at various points throughout the year. However, you cannot be funded for both at the same time, so you must inform the college and officially withdraw from your full-time course before starting the apprenticeship.

It’s worth noting that some companies operate on an annual recruitment cycle for their apprenticeship schemes with interviews taking place in January – March for an autumn start. Make sure you have discussed your intention with your personal tutor and your employer.

Students at Brooklands have gone on to do amazing things after finishing their courses. From becoming a chef in a Michelin star restaurant, to working for McClaren and racing competitively. No, we do not accept international applications.

To study a technical course at Level 3 or above, you generally need an IELTS Academic score of 5.0 to 6.0 overall (usually with at least 5.0–5.5 in each component). 

If you are a non-native speaker looking to improve your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, we have a variety of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses available for 16-18 year olds and adults (19+) across both Ashford and Weybridge campuses. You can study at this college if you hold one of the following visas, provided you are already residing in the UK prior to enrolment:

• Settlement Visas (may be eligible for reduced course fees)
• Family or Dependent Visas (may be eligible for reduced course fees)
• Work Visas (courses are charged at full cost)

Visas not accepted

• Student Visas (formerly Tier 4): We cannot accept students on a standard Student Visa. Because the college is not a licensed sponsor, we cannot sponsor students before they arrive in the UK.

Brooks Kitchen Cafe is available 5 days a week at our Weybridge campus, providing hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches and hot food. There are also several vending machines across both campuses for grab and go snacks and soft drinks.

Both campuses are a 10-minute walk from town and local supermarkets are located close by.

You do not need to bring your own laptop as the college has laptop banks available to hire a laptop for a few hours for lessons or independent study. There are also desktops available in our study hubs. However, it is recommended to have access to a laptop or computer at home to complete assignments and coursework.
