Weybridge Campus
Brooklands Technical College opened in 1951 and has grown steadily over the years, building on the college’s established expertise and developing our provision to meet the constantly changing demands of the local, regional and national economies. Our Weybridge campus is located only a 10-minute walk from the town centre and railway station. It is surrounded by Brooklands Wood and Weybridge Heath, a public woodland area adjacent to the Brooklands Grove residential development.
Brooklands has a rich history, once the country home of the Locke King family who were closely associated with the famous Brooklands racetrack during the early part of the 20th century. We’re proud of the close links the college maintains to the local area’s aviation, engineering and motorsport history. Our buildings are named after important figures in these industries including Sir Barnes Wallis, Selwyn F. Edge, Ethel and Hugh F. Locke King and the Vickers aircraft factory. The college’s racing team BTC Racing also continues to take part in student motorsport competitions.
Ashford Campus
In 2007 Brooklands merged with Spelthorne College and in 2016 we opened our Ashford Campus to focus on a selection of full-time courses, as well as offering part-time courses for adults in ESOL, Accounting & Bookkeeping and English & maths. Located on Stanwell Road, Ashford, next to Thomas Knyvett College, the campus is a 10-minute walk from Ashford station and high street. The campus includes dedicated workshops for our Electrical T Level and Apprenticeship programmes as well as classrooms, Study Hub and outdoor seating.
Brooks Hair & Beauty Salon, Ashford
The College’s high street salon, located on Pitcher Lane in Ashford, opened in 2019. A fully-equipped, state-of-the-art training facility for Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy, the salon offers a wide range of professional services to members of the public.
