Governance
In this section, you can find information about our governance arrangements, the most recent minutes of our Corporation Board and Committees and profiles of our governors.
Our Corporation Board
Brooklands Technical College is a Further Education college, incorporated under the Further and Higher Education Act 1992. The Corporation Board outlines the mission, vision and values of the College, sets its strategic direction, oversees the quality of education, its financial performance and safeguards the College’s assets.
The Board endorses and models the College values of Be Caring, Be Inspiring, Be Collaborative and Be a Champion in all its behaviours. The learner experience, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and the safety of our college community run through everything that our Corporation Board does.
The Board comprises 13 independent volunteer governors, with significant professional, financial, education, business and community experience.
They are joined on the Board by two elected staff governors, two elected student governors and the Principal and Chief Executive.
The College’s overarching aim, determined by the Corporation Board, is to be outstanding in every way, such that it is the destination of choice, unlocking the potential of all those who choose to study with us. We are committed to ensuring the best experience for every individual who studies or works at BTC.
The Corporation Board commissioned the Association of Colleges to undertake an external review of its governance arrangements between January and March 2024. A summary of the key outcomes is available here.

Interested in becoming a governor?
It is an exciting time in the history of Brooklands Technical College. With an Ofsted rating of “Good”, a major capital redevelopment of our Weybridge Campus and strong finances, the future is looking bright for our students.
We are looking for new Governors to join our Corporation Board, to help steer the college into the next chapter as the college of choice for technical and professional education in North Surrey, providing exceptional education that meets the current and future skills needs of our region and our nation.
