This course supports learners in building the skills and confidence needed to thrive in both social and work environments. Tailored to each learner’s individual needs and abilities, it encourages independence, personal growth and the confidence to succeed in new settings.

English must be the student’s additional language.

To enrol, students must provide evidence of:

• Your most recent Payslip and/or Universal credit statement in full
• Copies of any benefits that you may be receiving
• Your passport, visa and residence permit (if you have one)

Fees for this course only apply to adults who do not qualify for government funding. Every applicant will be assessed before enrolment on their funding availability.

ESOL courses are offered at the following Levels:

Pre Entry –  Beginner level

• Entry Level 1 – Basic introduction to English
• Entry Level 2 – Pre-intermediate
• Entry Level 3 – Intermediate
• Level 1 – Upper Intermediate
• Level 2 – Advanced

Upon enrolment, our dedicated staff will assess which course is suitable for you.

As part of this course, students study ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Maths, Citizenship and personal development. You will also work towards obtaining your Maths and English qualifications. 

You will develop key skills such as:

• Speaking and listening skills
• Reading and writing skills
• Grammar and vocabulary skills

We specialise in teaching with a variety of stimulating materials and experiences to promote strong language development. We aim to help students integrate into their local communities, providing future pathways into work and further education.

This course is assessed throughout the year through written assessments, students will then complete a final exam at the end of their course.

Students are required to supply their own stationary and access to a laptop or tablet is beneficial, but not required.

Upon successful completion of the Entry 3 award or above, students can progress onto other vocational courses at the college.
