This comprehensive course is designed to build on your existing knowledge and deepen your understanding of business principles. On completion, this course is equivalent to three A-levels, unlocking your pathway to higher education.

Course overview

Gain a comprehensive understanding of how businesses operate, both in the UK and internationally, exploring areas such as management, leadership, human resources and marketing. You’ll develop essential skills in decision-making, research, communication and problem-solving. You will understand the impact of economic, cultural and legal factors. Alongside this, you’ll build practical IT and business planning skills to prepare you for further study or a career in the business world.

Your study programme will consist of: 

  • Your chosen technical qualification
  • GCSE English and maths if you are yet to achieve a grade 4 or above
  • Personal Development sessions which focus on developing work-ready skills (such as CV writing), independent life skills (such as money management) and personal, social and professional growth. 
  • Work experience or industry placement (course dependent)

Learners are required to have passed the BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Business as this course builds on that knowledge. Students can internally progress onto this course in their second year at the college.

  • Understand relevant legislation and how regulations influence business decisions
  • Develop your IT skills and create the documents required for business management

This course is assessed through case studies and assessments.

The qualification carries UCAS points equivalent to 3 A-levels, which can be used to progress into higher education. You could progress onto any of the following courses, but be sure to check out the entry requirements suggested by your chosen higher education provider.
