Level 4/5 Foundation Degree in Motorsport Engineering

Delivered in partnership with London South Bank University, this 2 year course focuses on building your expertise and technical skills in motorsport engineering. You will attend lessons 3 days a week to develop and practice your skills. With extensive employer links at the college, this course is tailored to meet current industry needs and practice, allowing our students to be better prepared for the world of work by the end of the course. 

Learners will also have the opportunity to join our racing team, BTC Racing, where our student-led team competes in nationwide motorsport competitions.

To qualify for this course, you will need one of the following: A level 3 diploma in a relevant subject, GCE A levels at a passing grade or an Access to HE diploma in a relevant subject.

This 2 year course is primarily for people who are currently working in a related field who wish to gain a higher level qualification in recognition of their skills and knowledge or who would like to build on existing expertise.

In year one, you will complete a work based module and will focus on engineering design, mathematics, engineering science and engine technology.

In year two, you will focus on vehicle dynamics and performance, computer aided design, vehicle electrical and electronic systems and further mathematics.

In advance of the course starting students will need to purchase their personal protective equipment (PPE). This will consist of Steel or composite toe safety shoes and overalls. Guidance on this will be provided during enrolment.

You will also be expected to have your own pencil case, with the relevant equipment for this course, this includes: pens, pencils, ruler, protractor, compass, eraser, lined paper and a ring binder.

You will be allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred. You can purchase more printing credits on our online store, which can be found here.
