Held at our Ashford Campus, this exciting course is the perfect introduction to the hairdressing industry. You will learn the key skills and knowledge and working practices required to work in a salon environment.
Course overview
Designed for adult learners, this course takes place at Brooks Salon in Ashford Highstreet. You will gain a greater insight into the hairdressing industry, focusing on opportunities and pathways to full-time employment. You will learn the key skills and techniques to begin your career as a hairdresser. You’ll learn how to consult clients, work to health and safety standards and learn industry standard techniques to shampoo and condition client’s hair.
There are no entry requirements for this course but students will benefit from a good level of English comprehension and dexterity.
Fees for this course only apply to adults who do not qualify for government funding. Upon enrolment, you will be asked to provide your most recent payslip and/or Universal Credit statement (in full) to assess whether you are eligible for the course to be fully funded or at a reduced fee.

Career Pathways
Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners can progress onto level 3 certificates or can find employment opportunities in salons, hotels or as a freelance hairdresser.
