About this course

These courses will give you an introduction to the skills and knowledge required for all types of work in the business environment. You will be taught by experienced and specialist members of business teaching staff in conjunction with external speakers. All of the units studied will have a real life business focus. You will also have the opportunity to take part in business events and enterprise projects plus trips including Thorpe Park.

You will also undertake a work experience placement to help develop your business acumen.

How is the course assessed?

You will be assessed continuously through assignments/project based work.

Are there any extra costs?

Students will need a good quality memory stick to store their work for the year. During the year there will be the opportunity to attend some trips and events which will incur costs for travel or admission. Costs will be advised by your tutor at the time. Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.

What qualifications will I need?

5 GCSE passes including 1 GCSE at grade 4 and above or for progressing student’s successful achievement of a level 1 vocational qualification.
