This combined course develops your maths and English skills for work and everyday life. Improve your reading, writing, and communication while building confidence in numbers, shapes, and data. No previous qualifications needed.

Multiply

Multiply is a selection of free courses to help you improve your maths skills. It can help you in your everyday life, from managing your finances or helping your children with their homework. It can also help you get a new job or study for further qualifications.

If you’re aged 19 and over and don’t have maths GCSE at grade C (or equivalent), you can access free numeracy courses through Multiply to build your confidence with numbers and gain a qualification.

Good numeracy skills may unlock job opportunities and lead to higher wages or prepare you for further study. They also help in everyday life, such as helping children with homework and budgeting money.

There will be courses for beginners to more advanced courses such as GCSE Maths, Functional Skills Qualifications, or equivalent. Online tutorials and content are also available, so you will be able to learn at a pace that suits you.

Courses available

Need a quick maths refresh? This course is perfect! Covering essential topics from multiplication and division to fractions and decimals, it’s designed to boost your confidence and skills. Learn at your own pace with clear explanations and interactive exercises. Whether you’re preparing for exams or just want to sharpen your mind, this course has you covered.

Start: 1 October 2024 | End: 17 December 2024 

Day/Time: Mondays 09:30 – 12:30 (10 weeks)

Gain essential life skills with this course. Learn how to budget, save, and spend wisely. Explore banking, investing, and financial planning basics. Develop confidence in managing your money and achieving financial goals. This course also covers essential independence skills, helping you build confidence and self-reliance.

Start: 8 January 2025 | End: 26 March 2025 

Day/Time: Mondays 09:30 – 12:30 (13 weeks)

Improve your English language skills while building essential maths knowledge. This course combines ESOL lessons with practical maths, helping you communicate effectively and confidently in everyday life. Learn numbers, calculations, and problem-solving in English, preparing you for work, study, and social situations.

Start: 9 September 2024 | End: 19 December 2024 

Day/Time: Wednesdays 09:30-12:30 (7 weeks)

Boost your maths confidence and skills with this course. Designed to help you progress to GCSE or FS level, you’ll cover essential topics like numbers, calculations, and problem-solving. Learn practical maths skills for everyday life and work, building a strong foundation for further study or career advancement.

Start: 2 September 2024 | End: 28 June 2025 

Day/Time: Thursdays 09:30-11:30 (10 weeks)

Boost your job prospects with essential maths skills. This course focuses on practical numeracy for the workplace. Learn to handle numbers confidently, from calculations and data analysis to problem-solving and financial management. Improve your job performance and career opportunities with this essential skillset.

Start: 23 April 2025 | End: 18 June 2025 

Day/Time: Fridays 09:30-11:30 (10 weeks)

Entry requirements:

You can start a Multiply course if you’re 19 or over and you do not have at least a grade 4 (previously grade C) in GCSE maths or qualifications at the same level.

If you think Multiply could help you get a job or access higher levels or training, you might be eligible regardless of the qualification you have.
