At Brooklands Technical College we provide a comprehensive careers advice and guidance programme alongside progression and careers information through Pathways which can be found on all our course pages.

Careers fairs and guidance sessions

Careers workshops and guidance sessions as part of our Personal Development Programme. Students will benefit from careers fairs, open events, taster sessions and visits from Higher Education institutions, organisations and local/regional employers.

Our commitment

We meet Gatsby Benchmarks and hold Matrix accreditation for excellent advice.

We actively track and encourage student involvement in our careers programme using Navigate to create a portfolio for students to identify the activities they’ve engaged with to support their CV writing and future conversations with employers.

This information is used to inform and regularly review our careers programme for future improvements and opportunities.

Enrichment programme

As part of our Enrichment programme, we actively encourage all students to join a club such as creative writing, film or art – or take part in a sports team. These activities help students build work-ready skills such as teamwork, communication and leadership – as well as finding a welcoming space to make new friends and develop their interests outside of their course.

Surrey Careers Hub

We’re delighted to work closely with the Surrey Careers Hub, in partnership with the Careers and Enterprise company to ensure our careers programme is comprehensive.

This includes attending regular College Cluster meetings to share best practice and the latest career updates.
