A new Brooklands College is coming!

College given green light for £45m investment

Brooklands College is the place to go for technical and professional education in Surrey. To enable us to stay at the very top of our game and provide the very best facilities for future generations of students we will be undertaking a programme of redevelopment across our Weybridge site over the next couple of years. This will see up to £45m invested into the College and community facilities. 

The redevelopment of the campus will create a purpose built, secure and attractive learning environment focussed on a central quad with greatly enhanced student facilities.

This will include:

• the internal and external refurbishment and extension of facilities for Construction and Carpentry
• extensive refurbishment of facilities for Engineering, Hospitality & Catering, Hair & Beauty and Travel and Tourism
• the internal and external refurbishment of facilities for Forensic Science, Health  & Social and Education and Early Years Professions
• extensive refurbishment of facilities including the Learning Hub, as well spaces for Digital Media, Business and Computing Studies. 

The new campus will also feature a new dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) building.

Brooklands College has been allocated funding by Surrey County Council to increase the intake of SEND students in line with the forecasted growth in student numbers in Surrey.

A key element of the redevelopment plans are also to provide outstanding new community facilities, some of which are not currently available in Weybridge. This includes a new sports hall with four courts, a new community hub, a public access restaurant and café, a new hair and beauty salon and access to the wider site for leisure. 

This exciting redevelopment will mean there’s some movement to where courses are based whilst works are undertaken, and there will be some changes to areas of the Weybridge site, but this has been very carefully planned and will be managed to ensure the minimum impact on our student’s experience at the College. 

Students starting from September 2024 should be able to benefit from some of the enhanced facilities this exciting programme of work will bring.
