Designed to build the key skills and knowledge required for the construction industry, the Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry is the perfect pathway for those interested in the construction sector. You will explore the principles of first and second fix carpentry, developing your abilities and preparing you for a range of roles within the carpentry industry.

Your study programme will consist of: 

  • Your chosen technical qualification
  • GCSE English and maths if you are yet to achieve a grade 4 or above
  • Personal Development sessions which focus on developing work-ready skills (such as CV writing), independent life skills (such as money management) and personal, social and professional growth. 
  • Work experience or industry placement (course dependent)

The minimum entry requirements for this course includes GCSE English and maths (grade 3-4) or Level 2 Functional Skills. Those who do not achieve a grade 4 in English or maths will be required to study this alongside their course.

Your course will be based in our carpentry and construction workshops which offer a dynamic and hands-on environment for our learners. Designed to spark creativity and build practical skills, each area is equipped with its own specialised tools and dedicated workspaces, allowing learners to experience authentic, real-world craftsmanship. Whether you’re shaping timber or assembling brick structures, our workshop spaces provide the ideal space to learn, create and grow.

This course is assessed through project work and written assessments.


What you'll need

You will be required to purchase steel-capped boots, a measuring tape and a Brooklands branded high vis t-shirt. Students may also rent a locker on site, providing a deposit which will be returned to them at the end of their course. Throughout this course, you will be allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.
