About this course

This course is aimed at people who are interested in the technical involvement in motorsport engineering and in computer aided design for racing cars. To succeed on the course, you should have a passion for making racing cars perform. We equip the learners with the engineering skills they need to excel in the progression.

The links we have generated with the local automotive and motorsport industry support the course in its development and we have had many successful years of our learners progressing into full-time roles within these companies.

You will have access to all of the outstanding equipment we have in the department, including 2 wheel chassis dyno, engine dyno, composites workshop and CNC and fabrications workshops.

By the end of the course you will be well equipped to take your skills out into the industry and gain employment in the ever developing automotive and motorsport sector.

How long does it last?

Full Time
Course length: 1 year, 3 days per week 09.00-17.00 

Part Time
Course length: 2 years, 1 day per week 09.00-17.00

How is the course assessed?

Each unit of the degree comes with assignment work that you would predominantly do in your own time. Some units include tests and exams as well as written assignments. The majority of your work will be focused on using computer applications throughout the course.

What qualifications will I need?

To be able to study on the Level 6 BSc Motorsport Technology course you must have completed the Level 4/5 Foundation Degree in Motorsport Engineering at Brooklands College.

Next Steps

If you wish to carry on studying after this level you could consider a place on the MSc programme at Oxford Brookes University, alternatively many learners will opt to move out to employment at this stage.
