The core element of a level 3 T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding in a broad range of topics such as programming, coding, the use of data and the different platforms of delivery in the digital industry. It’s a fast-moving and cutting-edge subject and you’ll also learn about the potential security risks that organisations can face and how to analyse problems and identify solutions through computer programs.
You’ll then move on to study the subject in more detail through occupational specialism. This is where you can get deeper into specific aspects of the subject, developing and practising the skills needed for an occupation.
Year 1 Core Component

Year 2 Occupational Specialist Component
Students undertaking the Technical Qualification in Digital Production, Design and Development have a set occupational specialism for the second year of study. This component will be assessed by a skills-related project that synoptically assesses the Performance Outcome skills and associated underpinning knowledge.

Estimating costs of digital products
Developing and testing products
Deploying and implementing digital products
Testing
Maintenance and updates

Students are required to take part in a substantial industry placement that runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and will give students practical insights into their sector and an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths
Students who complete a T Level Technical Qualification in Digital Production, Design and Development will be able to choose between moving into a skilled occupation or further study; for example, a higher or degree level Apprenticeship, or higher-level technical study, including higher education.
