    What modules are covered?

    The compulsory and mandatory units are:

    • Human Lifespan Development (externally assessed)
    • Health and Social Care values
    • Effective communication in Health and Social Care
    • Healthy living (externally assessed)

    The optional units are:

    • Promoting health and wellbeing
    • Equality and diversity in health and social care
    • Individual rights in Health and Social Care
    • Human body system and care of disorders.
    • The Impact of Nutrition on Health and Wellbeing
    • Creative and Therapeutic Activities in Health and Social Care

    Who is the course suitable for?

    Those interested in going into a caring profession such as Health Care Assistant, Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work and Care work.

    How is the course assessed?

    Units are internally assessed through assignments and two are externally assessed through controlled assessment. Assessments are by a range of methods including assignments, case studies, presentation, course work and work placement need to be completed.

    Your tutor will advise you on any additional costs at the start of the course.

    Entry Requirements

    What qualifications will I need?

    5 GCSE grade 3 passes including English and Maths and 1 GCSE at grade 4 and above or for progressing student’s successful achievement of a level 1 vocational qualification.

    Next Steps

    This qualification will enable you to progress to a Level 3 in Health & Social Care or Childcare or alternatively to gain employment as a Care Assistant and a workplace qualification the Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adult).

    Typical job roles in this industry include: Health Care Assistant, Nurse, Social worker with starting salaries ranging from £13,000 to £21,000.
