This qualification follows on directly from the Practical Welding course to give learners a chance to gain a formal qualification in introductory welding skills.
The Level 1 course is designed to have a ‘hands on’ practical approach to introductory welding training. To support the 'hands on' approach the knowledge aspects of the qualifications are covered in a self-study pack. This allows study at an individuals own pace and the pack can be retained for reference after the qualification is completed.
All learners must complete one of the following units:
• Tungsten Inert Gas Welding
• Metal Inert Gas Welding
• Oxy-Acetylene Welding
• Manual Metal Arc Welding
You will be studying on or will have completed the Practical Welding course at Brooklands College

You will need:
• Steel or composite toe safety shoes or boots (can be arranged by Brooklands College)
• One piece Brooklands College Engineering overalls (available on enrolment)
• Safety glasses
All students are subject to a £25 registration fee per academic year.
Each student will receive a print allowance at the start of their course, should they require additional printing beyond this limit, they will be charged.
