About this course
This course offers an engaging introduction to working with children and young people, giving learners the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to support their growth, development, and wellbeing.
You will explore the importance of play in early childhood, child development, and ways to plan creative and craft-based activities. The course also covers essential safety knowledge, including accident prevention and fire safety when babysitting, alongside practical skills for caring for young children in a babysitting setting. You will also learn about the importance of respecting and valuing children, explore community-based play and leisure opportunities, and discover how to share fun, meaningful learning experiences with children.

Entry Requirements
What qualifications will I need?
Entry requirements include English or maths GCSE (grade 0-3) or a Level 1 Functional Skills. Those who do not achieve a grade 4 in English or maths will be required to study alongside their course.
