The Governing Body, or Corporation Board, of Brooklands College determines the educational mission of the College, its strategic direction, oversees its financial performance and safeguards its assets. It also endorses the values, by which the College operates, of Respect and Compassion, Innovation and Integrity which are at the heart of the Fundamental British Values. Safeguarding and Prevent activities are at the top of its agenda.
The College’s overarching aim, determined by the Corporation, is to be outstanding in every way such that it is the destination of choice, unlocking the potential of all those who are involved.
The Corporation Board comprises up to 12 independent volunteer governors, with significant professional, business, education and community experience, 2 elected staff members, 2 elected student governors and the Principal.
Collectively they are ambitious for the College providing a relentless focus on quality and improvement through the committee structure, attendance at Performance Reviews and direct engagement with students and staff. Whilst ensuring that areas of strength continue to flourish, governors are committed to support key areas for improvement. This approach is thus directed towards providing an outstanding experience for all students and the communities which we serve.
