Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy

About this course

You will study a range of beauty therapies including: body massage, Indian head massage, hot stone massage, electrical facial treatments and pre-blended aromatherapy. You will also be expected to maintain your commercial skills. During the course you will also be enrolled onto the tutorial, enrichment programme and suitable English and Maths programmes dependant on GCSE/Functional Skills results.

Where will I be studying?

Brooklands College has specialist facilities for beauty courses, linked to the on-site Inspire Hair & Beauty Academy on both campuses. There will be a work based element which will prepare you for employment in the industry. You will also have the opportunity to take part in competitions and all students are expected to wear uniforms and present themselves in a professional manner.

Who is the course suitable for?

Any students moving on from NVQ level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy or students with the equivalent qualifications in beauty therapy.

How is the course assessed?

Continuous assessment via practical course assignments and written evaluations.

Are there any extra costs?

A uniform and beauty kit is strongly advised and this can be purchased from our recommended supplier (information will be given to you at interview).  Visits that include: professional exhibitions, an international visit and a chance to take part in competitions and suppliers product courses.  Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.

What qualifications will I need?

5 GCSE passes at grade C/grade 4 or above, ideally including English and Maths (some subject areas may require higher grades than grade C/4 in a specific subject), or for progressing students successful achievement of a level 2 vocational qualification.
