About this course
The Advanced Apprenticeship will help to build on the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people. This apprenticeship is aimed at those who work or want to work as classroom and support assistant, special needs assistant, teaching assistant, welfare assistant or team leader. Your duties will include making sure that the students and classroom teacher are well supported to deliver the learning experience defined by the school their year group and any particular student needs.Course Details
What will the course involve?
The topics covered in the course include:
- A portfolio of evidence using different formats such as learning plans, written tasks, discussion and direct observation in the workplace.
- Professional development, observation and assessment
- You will need to gather evidence from your teaching setting such as accident reports, health and safety procedures, and feedback on pupil behaviour.
- Your face-to-face assessor will require you to talk about your experiences at your setting.
Start Dates
An assessor will regularly assess you in your work place environment providing on-going support to compile your portfolio of evidence which will also include written assignments. You will also attend college at either at the Weybridge or Ashford for 32 weeks.Entry Requirements
What qualifications will I need?
You must have a Grade 4 or above GCSE in Maths and English Language before starting the course.
You will need to demonstrate an interest in working in the education sector. All applicants that are interested in applying for apprenticeship training will be required to attend an interview and undertake initial assessments. All candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check.
