People who choose to work in the Uniformed Public Services, whether this be the Emergency Services or the Armed Forces, often choose to do so because they like variety and a challenge. These jobs are not always conventional desk jobs, and staff working in them support each other in order to fulfil their roles successfully. All courses start with a ‘boot camp’ to ensure that both teamwork and discipline, particularly self-discipline, are embedded into the course. There are a variety of trips throughout the year in the UK, depending on the level you are studying. Students are required to wear a uniform one day a week and on any trips. You will learn drill and inspection, preparing you for all of the Public Services.
