A Standalone Future

Brooklands Technical College is delighted to share the results of a recent formal review of the College and its future carried out by the Further Education Commissioning team (FEC) and the College Corporation.

The review looked carefully at the College’s long-term future – including its financial stability, ability to deliver high-quality education and training and the possible benefits of merging with another college or university.

After extensive analysis and consultation with staff, students and partners, the review concluded that Brooklands Technical College should remain independent. The College Corporation agreed, recognising that remaining a standalone college is the best option for our learners and the wider community.

This positive result reflects several key strengths, including:

• Outstanding feedback from students, staff and local stakeholders
• Exceptional progress on the College’s campus development project
• Effective, evidence-based decision-making
• Strong leadership and governance across the organisation

With our standalone future now confirmed, we will continue to focus on delivering high-quality education and supporting local communities, employers and the regional economy.

Looking ahead to 2026–2027

We are now focused on three main priorities for the years ahead:

Learner excellence

We will continue to deliver outstanding teaching and learning so every student achieves their goals. Our courses are designed with employers to ensure students gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed for successful careers – reflected in our consistently high employment and progression rates.

Empowering our people

We’re committed to supporting our staff with continuous professional development and training, ensuring our team remains skilled, motivated and up to date with industry expertise.

Future college

Our Weybridge Campus development is progressing well, with plans for modern, state-of-the-art facilities to make Brooklands an inclusive hub for lifelong learning. We offer flexible courses – from entry level to Higher Education – alongside strong apprenticeship and adult learning opportunities. At our Ashford Campus, we are expanding into new growth areas such as pre-16 alternative provision and construction.
