On March 13th, our Level 3 Media students traveled to Kensington to premiere their documentary project as part of the Kinoteka Polish Film Festival’s tribute to Krzysztof Kieślowski. Inspired by his short film Talking Heads 1980, this contemporary project poses three questions to people of all ages: ‘Who are you?’, ‘How old do you feel?’, and ‘What do you want from life?’’. Tasked with creating their own interpretation of Kieślowski’s philosophical style, the students set out to produce their very own version of the short film.
As part of their project, the students first met with the team at Institut Francais to conduct a site recce of their facilities and spoke with their curator and projectionist before filming began. Working against the clock, the team filmed several interviews with visitors and staff at Cine Lumiere and edited their interviews into a short film perfectly representing Kieślowski’s style and creating a brilliant tribute, in just a few hours.
Their project is now part of a wider tribute to Krzysztof Kieślowski at the Kinoteka Polish Film festival which will be screened until the end of March at King’s Cross Coal Drops Yard.
