Each year, our Public Services students organise donations from the college community to create Christmas boxes for elderly patients who are spending the festive season in hospital. These thoughtful contributions are carefully collected and packed by our students before being delivered to the wards. Their Christmas boxes are then handed out by nurses on Christmas Day, bringing comfort and festive cheer at a time that can feel particularly lonely for many.
This Christmas, our Public Service students once again went the extra mile this year by preparing and delivering boxes to the Senior Adult wards at St Peter’s Hospital on the 18th December. The boxes contained a multitude of gifts and necessities from: toiletries, magazines, books, socks, sweets, biscuits, mirrors, combs and puzzles.
Charlie Humphries Level 3 Public Services student said: “Christmas can be a lonely time form those in hospital over Christmas, we hope these gifts bags bring some happiness and joy. It has been a pleasure to put these together, the whole class has worked as a team collecting donations and purchasing the items for the gifts.”
The medical team at St Peters hospital expressed heartfelt gratitude, highlighting the positive impact these gifts have on their patients.
We are incredibly proud of all our students and their dedication to spreading holiday cheer and making a meaningful difference in the community. Their collaborative charity event showcased their generosity and truly embodies the spirit of giving, reflecting the core values of the college.
