Applied Science

The course enables you to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of ‘How Science Works’ through practical activities such as planning to test a scientific idea, collection and analysis of scientific data and working safely with others.  You will study current science issues through investigations using numerical data and using ICT to produce reports.

After the successful completion of year 1, students may have the option to transfer onto another year to complete either the National Diploma in Applied Science (equivalent to 2 A Levels).

Forensic science is the application of knowledge to answer criminal law decisions involving science. After the successful completion of Year 1, this extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A-Levels) will prepare you for Higher Education or Employment. 

This course is designed to prepare students for the technical and rewarding work of a forensic scientist.
