LEVEL 2: T LEVEL FOUNDATION YEAR
The T Level foundation year in Health course is designed for those that are looking to progress on to a T Level programme but do not yet meet the entry requirements.
Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above (including English Language and Maths), plus two additional GCSEs at grade 3 or above. If you don’t have a grade 4 in English and Maths, you will be required to study for this alongside your course.

LEVEL 3: T LEVEL
This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in health and healthcare.
Entry Requirements:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4, including both English and Maths, and a minimum grade of 9-4 in GCSE Science. You will also need a Disclosure and Barring Service check when you start the course. Students may find it helpful if they have already studied at Level 2.
Assessment: The course is assessed through 2 written examinations and an Employer set project -a supervised project, devised and set by NCFE.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN ON THIS COURSE
Students will develop an understanding of health and science:
- working within the health and science sector
- health, safety and environmental regulations
- managing information and data
- principles of good scientific and clinical practice
- core science concepts including the structure of cells, tissues and large molecules, genetics, microbiology and immunology
They will also learn about topics specific to health, including:
- understanding the healthcare sector
- providing person-centred care
- supporting health and wellbeing
- further knowledge of both human anatomy and physiology and of diseases and disorders
- infection prevention and control
In addition to the core content, each student must choose one of the following specialisms:
- supporting the adult nursing team
- supporting the midwifery team
- supporting the mental health team
- supporting the care of children and young people
- supporting the therapy teams
- dental nursing
Students are required to take part in a substantial industry placement that runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and will therefore give students practical insights into their sector and an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.
Progression
This technical qualification will support students onto a range of progression routes including employment, higher education and higher apprenticeships.
