Our Catering students once again tasted the sweet taste of success when they took part in the annually held Wessex Salon Culinaire competition in May 2019.
This year’s competition saw 18 students from Brooklands College studying towards a level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery, level 3 Diploma in Professional Patisserie & Confectionary and a qualification in Sugarcraft compete against students from other colleges and institutions in a competition at the highest standard of judging.
Hosted at Brockenhurst College, located in the heart of the New Forest in Hampshire, the popular event is held in association with The Craft Guild of Chefs. Entries for the competition were split into five categories; live hot, live cold, restaurant, display and bakery.
Certificates of participation and achievement were presented by the Chairman of the Judges for the categories stated below, with Brooklands students taking home a total of 7 gold, 5 silver and 11 bronze medals alongside seven certificates of merit.
