Be Collaborative: student filming project for Cala Homes

Students from Futureframe Productions, the College’s media department had the exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a real filming project. Cala Homes approached them to create a promotional video for the homes they are building at Brooklands Grove, Weybridge.
As “Be Collaborative” is one of the College’s core values; focussing on building strong, positive relationships to provide high quality education and skills, the students were happy to oblige.

The filming started in February 2025 and Level 3 Media students Sophie, Marcus and Krystal, along with lecturer Anthony, have been visiting the Cala Homes site weekly to capture footage of the houses taking shape. Using a Panasonic wide screen lens camera they have captured images and also aerial videography to create the video.

Sophie commented “As part of my course I have enjoyed working on this project and learning the various filming techniques. It’s good to put things we have learnt into practise and as the building site was quite busy and loud, it was a challenge to capture everything, but we are really pleased with the result. It’s amazing how everything comes together!”
