Studying the T Level Technical Qualification ensures students have the knowledge and underpinning theories and core skills to enable progression into skills employment, higher level technical training or study in the Education and Childcare sector.
T Level in education and childcare will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding in a broad range of topics such as child development, safeguarding and special educational needs, as well as learning about the role of families and support agencies. It’s a diverse and fascinating subject, and you’ll be able to delve into the specifics of social interaction, how language is acquired and understanding behaviour. You’ll also build your skills in becoming a reflective practitioner with an understanding of the broader context of education.
You’ll then be able to choose a specialism, which is designed to support your interests and ambitions to progress in a specific area. This is where you can get deeper into your chosen subject, developing and practising the skills needed for an occupation.
Modules can include:
Industry placements are a mandatory part of the T Level qualification, and you will complete a minimum of 750 hours in a placement for the Early Years Educator specialism and 315 for those learners selecting the Assisting Teaching specialism.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 9-4, including both English and Maths. You will also need a Disclosure and Barring Service check when you start the course. Students may find it helpful if they have already studied at Level 2.
On successful completion of your course you can enter the workplace, enrol on an Apprenticeship or go on to study higher level qualifications, available here at Brooklands College.
