Creating Inspiring and Inclusive Spaces
Published on 02.07.2026We are now entering the phase four of the redevelopment project, and BTC and Beard Construction representatives gathered to celebrate the start of works to create a new Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) facility.
The new Vickers facility will provide specialist post-16 SEND and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) provision and with additional investment from Surrey County Council, will accommodate up to 260 students.
The College is renowned across Surrey for our dedicated and experienced SEND and Transition team and with this new facility will create a safe, inspiring and inclusive environment where SEND learners aged 16-24 can feel confident, supported and able to thrive.
Following many successful educational projects, Beard Construction were awarded the contract, their ethos of creating spaces for people and purpose, and building with heart and ambition, won over the selection team.
At the area where the new building will be located, Meisha Harding, Director of SEND & Transition said “Our commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and community has been the driving force behind this capital project. It is a privilege to work in partnership with Surrey County Council and our key stakeholders to expand our SEND provision and meet a growing need across the county. BTC is proud to be a leading SEND provider in Surrey, dedicated to expanding life opportunities for so many young people.”
The building work is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027 ready for September 2027 intake.
The existing Vickers building will stay in operation until the new building is ready and applications are still open for 2026 intake. Apply here.
