The BTEC level 3 courses offer specialist qualifications that focus on particular aspects of employment within the Travel industry.
You will learn through both theory and practical classes in our dedicated tourism room. Completing projects, role plays, case studies and work experience to build up a portfolio of evidence whilst gaining professional skills. Tourism students are also college ambassadors, creating a first impression and looking after our customers at open events. This will develop your customer service and team work skills which are needed to have a successful start in industry.
You will also have the opportunity to experience the industry first hand, putting into practice what you have learned in the classroom during assessments on our fantastic day trips and overseas visits.

You will also participate in GCSE or Functional Skills re-sit for English and/or Maths if you achieved lower than a 4 in your GCSE exams.
How long does it last?
Each year of the course is 1 year.
The Level 3 course is a two year course and designed for those who have a keen interest in the Travel and Tourism Sector.
All the units will be continually assessed by assignments or on-line tests and will achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction. You will also be assessed during your 1 week work placement and on any residential/day trips as part of your course.
You will be required to pay £130 for visits. You will also be required to purchase a cabin crew uniform. There are two optional residential trips (UK & Overseas). Your tutor will provide details of these at the start of the course.
Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.
5 GCSE passes at grade 4 or above, ideally including English and Maths, or for progressing students successful achievement of a level 2 vocational qualification with excellent attendance to all areas of study.
Successful completion of this course can lead to employment within the Travel & Tourism industry.
Examples and approximate starting salaries of job roles that students on this course may go into include: Travel Agent £13,000, Cabin Crew £15,000, Cruise Call Centre £18,000.
