About this course

If you dream of working in an exciting and challenging role in the industry, then this course is for you. It includes industry relevant units that will develop your knowledge and practical skills as well as preparing you for progression to Level 3 Travel & Tourism. Our fantastic day trips and residentials allow you to complete assessments and experience the industry first hand.

Where will I be studying?

At Brooklands College we have a team of dedicated, experienced staff with vast travel industry experience. Our students enjoy classes in our dedicated tourism and cabin crew/aviation rooms. Over the duration of your course you will learn everything you need to know to have a successful start in industry. You also have the opportunity to experience the industry first hand, putting into practice what you have learned in the classroom during assessments on our fantastic day trips and residential visits.

  • Dealing With Passengers on Board an Aircraft 
  • Cabin Service – Selling Techniques 
  • Making Passenger Announcements on Board an Aircraft
     

 

Who is the course suitable for?

The travel and tourism industry continues to grow and thrive with exciting career opportunities in travel sales, customer service, marketing, events, digital, sustainability and aviation.

This course is suitable for anyone with a passion for the travel and tourism industry.

How is the course assessed?

This course is assessed through coursework.

Are there any extra costs?

You will be required to wear a uniform for all assessments and events. The cost of the uniform is £20 (shirt, scarf and badge).

There will be 5 edcuational trips to support your learning, which will costs approximately £125 in total. These trips are not optional and attendance is required by all students.

There will also be a residential trip to take part in a Travel & Tourism conference. The cost for this is approximately £500 and is optional.

Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.

 

Entry Requirements

What qualifications will I need?

5 GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above or successful achievement of a full Level 1 vocational qualification 

If you do not have Grade 4 in English and Maths then you will be required to study this alongside your course.

Progression

Next Steps

On completion of this course you can progress to Level 3 Travel & Tourism to further develop your knowledge and skills. This will enable you to apply for roles at the airport, service industries, travel industries, resorts or event management.
