This is a one year course that will include both practical and theory work. This course delivers a blend of hair and beauty units building a great foundation to work within the industry. You will be working on models and clients in our commercial salons as part of your study programme which develops study skills, personal development and GCSE English and Maths (If not already achieved at grade 4 or above).
You will be required to purchase kit, wear a uniform for your classes and present yourself in a professional manner. You will have wonderful work experience opportunities to prepare you for the world of work, and will learn in our fully-operational Brooks Salon.

You will also have the opportunity to take part in competitions and all students are expected to wear uniforms and present themselves in a professional manner.

• Hand Care and Basic Pedicure
• Nail Art
• Working as Part of a Team
Year 11 students as well as 16-19 year olds who wish to enter the professional world of the hair and beauty industry.
Practical assessments, coursework and online exams.
Uniform is mandatory.
Visits may include: professional exhibitions, an international visit and a chance to take part in competitions and suppliers product courses. Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.
No formal qualifications required. Suitablility for the course will be assessed at interview. It is essential that applicants have a keen interest in the industry and a willingness to learn.
You can further your studies by moving onto a Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing/Beauty Therapy. Alternatively, you may wish to go straight into employment to continue your training as an apprentice. Hair Stylists and Beauty Therapists tend to start their career in a Hair Salon, Beauty Salon or Spa.
