Personal Development & Careers Department

The Personal Development & Careers Department can be found in the Barnes & Wallis Building (Engineering & Art) on the second floor.  We are currently developing an exciting, new careers programme for the students that will be delivered alongside their PD sessions.

There are a number of services that we will be offering the students including, but not limited to:

• Impartial one to one career guidance sessions which can be booked in advance.  Both face to face meetings and remote meetings are available.
• Careers workshops where we will explore different career paths.
• Effective CV writing workshops.
• Interview technique workshops.
• Knowing your Strengths workshops.
• Effective Job Searching.
• Sector based workshops ranging from: Construction, Art & Design, Business, Education & Early Years, Engineering, Hair & Beauty, Health & Social Care, Hospitality & Catering, IT, Media, Public Service, Science, Sport & Leisure and Travel & Tourism.  
• Each student aged 14-18 will be offered a one-to-one career guidance session and receive a tailored action plan, providing a roadmap for their academic and professional journey.
• This service will be optional for over 18’s students.
