FAQs: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

This is a difficult time for us all and, as our College campuses close with Brooklands College moving to online learning, we know you have many questions on this situation. We have compiled a helpful FAQs list to guide you during this time. We shall endeavour to update this page when further questions come to our attention…

For adults on current courses we are awaiting advice from the awarding bodies about how the awarding of the qualification will move forward in the current situation.
For adults on new courses starting after easter – please email us with your name, course and contact details: info@brooklands.ac.uk

Each awarding body is looking at ways in which the qualifications can be awarded, and we will update you when we know more.

We will work with exam boards on contingency plans should this happen. The exam boards will take into account any unavoidable disruption.

We have prepared subject guides for all areas which include links to online resources and e-books.  These should be available on Google classroom or through your tutor.

Login to your Google Classroom HERE.

You shall receive payment of your meal allowance.

Please follow the advice on the Governments website HERE.

Brooklands College’s work experience, industry placement and supported internships have formally been suspended until further notice.

The Work Placement Team will continue to work with employers in order to plan and support future work placement activity.

If you have any questions or would like to contact the team about working with Brooklands College, please email at work.placements@brooklands.ac.uk.

Brooklands College careers & employability events have been postponed or cancelled until May 2020.

We offer a wide range of virtual opportunities to continue engagement, including virtual communication with our careers advisor in order to plan for future events and to support young people with their progression to further study, apprenticeships and employment.

If you have any questions about future careers activities, please contact careers@brooklands.ac.uk.

Apprentices are advised to follow the guidance being given at their workplace and to speak to their line managers about workplace procedures. If they have any concerns they should discuss them with their line manager or assessor.

We are working closely with employers to address any specific concerns, however, we will be continuing to conduct virtual visits and progress reviews where this is possible.

We are also considering specific consequences of time away from an apprenticeship and will update apprentices and employers as required.

Apprentices who usually attend College will be contacted directly by their curriculum delivery team to discuss next steps.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Apprenticeships and Partnerships Team at apprenticeship@brooklands.ac.uk.

No, there will be no access to the campus during the closure period
