Charity Dodgeball Tournament

17 November 2019, the battle of bravery was on! As a part of their ‘Planning and Participating in an Event’ objective, students from the Sports and Uniformed Public Services sectors decided to play dodgeball for charity. Each player made a donation in order to participate in the game, together they raised £125 for their chosen charities of Cancer Research UK and MIND.

Brooklands College staff also joined in on the action forming a team, as a part of the college tournament, together with the student teams. The teams all showed great spirit, challenging their opponents and competing to become the ultimate dodgeball champions! It was an exciting display of courage, skill, friendly rivalry and positive enjoyment. Cheers bounced around the sports hall walls as warm support and encouragement was given to all.

After all the rounds had been played, the excitement came to a climax for a gripping final match. The staff team against the top student team. They ducked and dodged, they threw with gusto… and with the last hurl, the staff team were pipped to the post as the student team grabbed victory!
